What are reagent drug testing kits?
Reagent testing kits are single-use chemical tests that react with small samples of a substance. The colour change can indicate the possible presence of certain drugs or common adulterants.
What can these kits tell me?
They can help identify whether a substance may contain what it is expected to contain, or if certain known adulterants may be present. They are a harm-reduction tool designed to provide information, not certainty.
What can’t these kits tell me?
Reagent tests cannot tell you:
- How pure or strong a substance is
- Whether a substance is “safe”
- Whether all possible adulterants are present
A result should never be treated as a guarantee.
Does a “good” result mean a substance is safe?
No. All drug use carries risk. Even if a test result matches what you expect, there may still be substances present that the test cannot detect, or risks related to dosage, mixing substances, or individual health factors.
Can reagent tests miss dangerous substances?
Yes. Some adulterants may not react with certain reagents, may be present in very small amounts, or may be new or uncommon substances. This is why testing is only one part of safer use.
Should I use more than one reagent?
Different reagents react to different substances. Using more than one reagent can increase the reliability of results and reduce the risk of misidentification.
Are the testing kits single use?
Yes. All kits sold on safesesh.ie are designed for single use only. Reusing tests can lead to contamination and unreliable results.
How should I store testing kits?
Store kits in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Improper storage can affect the accuracy of results.
Do you encourage drug use?
No. Safesesh.ie exists to support harm reduction and safety. We provide information and tools to reduce risk for people who may already choose to use substances.
Is my order discreet?
Yes. Orders are shipped in plain, discreet packaging with no indication of the contents.
Do you collect or share my personal data?
We only collect the information necessary to process and deliver your order. We do not sell or share customer data with third parties.
What should I do if I get an unexpected or concerning result?
If a test result is unexpected, unclear, or concerning, the safest option is not to consume the substance. Consider discarding it and seeking further information from trusted harm-reduction resources.
What should I do in an emergency?
If someone feels unwell or experiences unexpected effects after taking a substance, seek medical help immediately. Emergency services are there to help, be honest with medical staff about what was taken.
Why does safesesh.ie exist?
We believe access to information saves lives. Safesesh.ie was created to support harm reduction by giving people tools to make more informed and safer decisions.
